LAHORE: Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Industries and Production Rana Tanveer Hussain on Sunday said that inflation in the country would be on a decline by the end of the year 2025.

Addressing the media in Lahore, the Federal Minister stated that although the next one and a half years might pose challenges, efforts are underway to bring inflation under control within that timeframe. “It is hoped that inflation would be brought down to single digits by the end of 2025,” he remarked.

Highlighting government initiatives to provide relief to the public, Minister Tanveer mentioned that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has increased the Ramazan relief package to 12 billion rupees. He further elaborated on the measures taken, stating that 19 essential items are being offered at subsidized rates as part of the Ramazan package. Additionally, Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, has introduced the Ramazan Nigehban package.

The Federal Minister emphasized that quality items are being made available at affordable rates in utility stores. He pointed out that flour can be purchased at half price from all utility stores, and the government has also reduced the price of sugar by 44 rupees per kilogram.

“I’ll discuss with the prime minister after Ramazan to further increase subsidies to provide relief to the masses,” he assured.
