PDMA Issues Flood Warning

LAHORE: The water level is expected to rise as the ongoing monsoon spell has rivers overflowing.

Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) issued a warning Monday to warn that water levels in the rivers are increasing and at present there is low-level flood in Indus at Tarbela and Chashma.

The water level is also rising in Jehlum at Mangla while Sutlej has a low-level flood.

The report from PDMA stated that 2,44,000 cusecs of water is passing from Tarbela. Inflow of water in Chashma head is 2,71324 cusecs and discharge is 2,56,124 cusecs.

River Ravi is in normal flow while there is a surge of water in Chenab River at Marala, Khanki and Trimu.

The rain is expected for another day or two and precautions must be taken, the officials warned.
