President Zardari Urges Australian Companies to Invest in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday said that Pakistan and Australia enjoyed a durable relationship and urged the Australian companies to invest in different sectors of Pakistan including agriculture, agricultural equipment and other tools.

The president expressed these views during a meeting with Australian High Commissioner Pakistan Neil Hawkins who called on him at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, President Secretariat Press Wing said in a statement.

President Zardari also expressed his satisfaction with the bilateral cooperation between the two nations in the mining and mineral sectors.

The Australian High Commissioner apprised the President of the existing level of relations between the two countries, adding both nations were cooperating in the education, agriculture, and defence sectors.

Australian High Commissioner Meets PM Shehbaz Sharif

Earlier, the High Commissioner also called on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister expressed satisfaction with the current state of bilateral ties and said Pakistan was keen to enhance cooperation in mining, agriculture, livestock, and other fields.

He also invited Australian companies and experts to share their best practices and expertise with Pakistani Counterparts.
