Prophet’s (SAWW) Mosque Parking Lots, an Engineering Marvel

MADINAH: The parking facilities available at the Prophet’s (SAWW) Mosque are designed with exquisite and unique and geometric shapes that complement the surroundings of the area, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Tuesday.

Spanning on two floors under the courtyards of the Mosque, the parking lots offer a sophisticated network of entrances, exits, and roads that link both directions.

The extensive infrastructure focusses to facilitate access for visitors to the Prophet’s (SAWW) Mosque.

The parking lots cover a huge area of approximately 199,000 square meters, and are equipped with state-of-the-art security systems, with 679 hi-tech cameras, over 800 fire extinguishers, 190 fire hoses.

Around 23,000 fireproof blankets are also available to ensure safety and security. Parking facilities are equipped with 112 escalators and 12 elevators that provide access to the courtyards of the Prophet’s (SAWW) Mosque.

Out of 24 parking units, eight are reserved for subscribers and 16 for immediate payment. Each unit can accommodate 184 cars. There is also a reserved parking space for disable people.
