PSL 9, Match 10: Sahibzada Farhan Takes Qalandars to a Fighting Total Against Karachi Kings

LAHORE: Despite losing quick wickets from one hand, opener Sahibzada Farhan managed to stay on the crease and took Lahore Qalandar to a fighting total of 175 runs against Karachi Kings in the 10th contest of the Pakistan Super Leage (PSL) 9th edition contest at Qadhafi Stadium Lahore today (Saturday).

Farhan knocked a solid 72 runs innings included 4 sixes and 4 boundaries while facing 45 balls.

Earlier winning the toss, Karachi Kings invited Lahore Qalandar to bat first. Qalandar suffered the early loss, when Mir Hmaza dismissed the out of form Fakhar Zaman on just 6 runs. Fakhar was replaced by van der Dussen who along with Sahibzada Farhan took the scoreboard ahead.

When the score reached 45 in the 9th over, Shamsi got rid of van der Dussen who scored 26 runs of 23 balls. In the next over Kings got another wicket of Ahsan Hafeez who scored just 8 runs. He was replaced by the number 5 batter Jahandad Khan who added just 12 runs to the total and was caught on the boundary line via a stunning catch by Polard.

At the stage Qalandars were 90 for 4 in 12.3 overs. Qalandars batters were unable to stay for long on the crease, except Sahibzada Farhan who tried his best to push the score board ahead. On the last ball of 15th over Qalandar lost their 5th wickets when Shamsi took his 2nd and dismissed Shai Hope on 21. Hope was soon followed by the dismissal of Sikindar Raza who gone for dick on the bowling of Hasan Ali.

I the next over Sahibzada Farhan completed his terrific half-century with a blistering six. Apart from Farhan brilliant innings the tailenders also added some crucial runs for the side. In 20 overs Qalandar scored 175 runs for the loss of 6 wickets.

From Karachi Kings Mir Hamza, Hasan Ali and Tabraiz Shamsi got two wickets each.
