PESHAWAR: In Khyber District, Section 144 has been implemented by the District Administration to prohibit the unlawful sale of mobile SIM cards.
The administration has explicitly forbidden the sale of SIM cards through unauthorized individuals lacking permission from the relevant companies.
Clear instructions have been issued for confiscating all unauthorized SIM cards and registration equipment, accompanied by a directive for legal proceedings against individuals engaged in the illicit sale of SIM cards.
Moreover, steps have been initiated to curb unauthorized persons’ misuse of fingerprints on ordinary cards.
Immediate enforcement of Section 144 is underway, and it will remain effective for 2 months. The District Police are empowered to take legal action against violators under Section 188 of Pakistan’s Criminal Procedure Code. —APP
