LOS ANGELES: Pop sensation Taylor Swift continues to make waves in the music industry, with her latest album “The Tortured Poets Department” achieving unprecedented success on Spotify. Swift’s song “Fortnight” has shattered records, becoming the most streamed song in a single day on the platform.

According to reports, Swift’s album made history on April 19th, 2024, by becoming the first to garner 200 million streams in a single day on Spotify. However, the streaming giant later disclosed that the album’s first-day streams actually surpassed a staggering 300 million, solidifying Swift’s dominance on the platform.

In an announcement on Instagram, Spotify declared, “On April 19th, 2024, ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ became Spotify’s most-streamed album in a single day, and Taylor Swift became the most-streamed artist in a single day in Spotify history.” This achievement underscores Swift’s enduring popularity and her ability to captivate audiences worldwide with her music.

Notably, “Fortnight,” the album’s first single featuring Post Malone, broke the record for the most-streamed song in a single day on Spotify, surpassing Adele’s “Easy on Me,” which held the title since 2021. Spotify shared the milestone on Instagram, stating, “On April 19th, 2024, Taylor Swift’s ‘Fortnight (feat. Post Malone)’ became Spotify’s most-streamed song in a single day.”

Swift’s remarkable feat extends beyond her latest album, as she also broke her own record for the most-streamed singer in a single day. Previously, Swift achieved this milestone with the release of “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” in 2023, showcasing her enduring appeal and influence in the music industry.

In addition to her musical achievements, Swift’s album garnered attention from the gaming community after she mentioned Grand Theft Auto in one of her tracks. Among the album’s tracks is “So High School,” which delves into Swift’s relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight-end Travis Kelce. One particular line in the song, where Swift compares her relationship to a high school couple, caught the attention of gamers due to its reference to the popular video game.
