Thailand’s Consul General Attends Iftar Dinner in Karachi

KARACHI: The Consul General of Thailand in Karachi Narut Soontarodon attended an Iftar dinner hosted by Thai Airways in honour of top travel agents at a local hotel in Karachi.

Talking to reporters, the Thai Consul General wished Pakistani people and Muslims around the world the start of the holy month of Ramazan.

Narut Soontarodon said the Pakistani nation has very rich Islamic values and it was his very first experience celebrating Holy Ramazan in Pakistan and he felt happy having Iftar with them.

The CG said there were 5 percent Muslim population lives in Thailand and they have all rights to perform their religious activities.

Rashid Siddiqui, Thai Airways Marketing Manager, said that Thai Airways International Public Company Limited started its operations in Pakistan in April 1976.

At present we are operating five flights each from Karachi and Lahore and four flights from Islamabad, he said, adding that the Pakistani market is very important for business community, meetings, leisure, incentives, exhibitions, seminars and other corporate activities.

He said that Thailand is the most favourite destination for Pakistani visitors. In 2023, Bangkok was declared the top visited destination globally.

He said from April, Thai Airways will add one more flight from Lahore and a total of six flights in a week.

Rashid Siddiqui said that they plan to have seven each flight from Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad.
