NAIROBI, Kenya: Experts say one of the health care challenges in Africa is a shortage of training and education for workers. To help, a US charity called Mission to Heal is training local workers who serve patients in remote locations. Juma Majanga reports from Ngurunit village in northern Kenya.

A US charity named Mission to Heal is addressing healthcare challenges in rural Kenya by training local medics to improve access to healthcare in remote areas.

One of the significant health care obstacles in Africa is the scarcity of trained medical professionals and healthcare workers. Mission to Heal aims to bridge this gap by empowering local workers with the skills and knowledge needed to provide essential medical services.

In Ngurunit village in northern Kenya, where access to healthcare is limited, Mission to Heal is making a difference by training and equipping local workers. These trained medics are crucial in serving patients who would otherwise struggle to access healthcare due to geographical barriers. By investing in education and training for local workers, Mission to Heal is not only improving healthcare delivery but also empowering communities to address their healthcare needs more independently. This approach reflects a sustainable solution to healthcare challenges in underserved regions of Kenya and beyond.
