WASHINGTON: Former US President Donald Trump did not post on his social media platform Truth Social that he had transferred properties out of his name to evade asset seizures in the wake of a judgment in New York.

The screenshot appears as an undated Truth Social post published through Donald Trump’s official account (@realDonaldTrump) and reads: “The corrupt New York DA Letitia Peekaboo James, may try to take my asset with this rigged witch hunt but they would not succeed. I did a transfer of assets which means it is not in my name so they cannot take it to cover any “bills” they want Donald J. Trump to pay. I win. MAGA!”

The post surfaced on Monday as Donald Trump won a bid to pause a $454 million civil ruling in New York if Trump posts a $175 million bond within ten days in a case brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James, in which the former President was found to have falsely overstated his net worth by a judge in February. This act stops New York authorities from seizing his property.

There is no such Truth Social post on Donald Trump’s account, Reuters reported. Similarly, Trump’s spokesperson did not immediately issue any statement over the development.

According to Reuters, there is no evidence that Donald Trump has posted a post claiming he had transferred property out of his name and similarly, there is no record of the post on his Truth Social account.
