WASHINGTON: A clip of comedian Benjamin Bankole Bello playing his character “President Obonjo of Lafta Republic” has been shared on different platforms of social media as showing the “President of Africa” threatening to attack the over former President Donald Trump’s prosecution.
The video shared on several platforms of social media shows the comedian saying, in part, If President Joe Biden and his people continue to prosecute Donald Trump, then we will attack America. The clip is overlaid with text reading, “The President of Africa threatens to attack the US over President Biden’s corruption” and “Imagine Donlad Trump being so racist he had the support of all of Africa and their President.”

According to Reuters, the comedian often shares skits dressed as the same character on his social media. Responding over the matter, a spokesperson for Bello, said that President Obonjo is a comedy character and he frequently comments satirically on current affairs.
