Federal, Provincial Govts On Same Page to Address Balochistan Issues: CM Bugti

ISLAMABAD: Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti of Balochistan emphasized the synchronized efforts of both the federal and provincial governments in tackling the province’s issues during a press conference in Islamabad.

He highlighted the use of appropriate measures to combat threats and root causes of insurgency, underscoring the united front of Balochistan’s leadership in resolving provincial issues.

Bugti reiterated the Balochistan government’s commitment to promoting good governance for the benefit of the common people, who have historically borne the brunt of poor governance practices. He applauded the collaborative efforts of all political parties in delivering relief to the people and noted the unprecedented uncontested election of Senators from the province.

Responding to inquiries, Bugti stressed that violence cannot secure rights for Balochistan, noting that all granted rights stem from parliamentary decisions. He thanked allied political parties for their support and acknowledged the role of security forces in swiftly thwarting terrorist attacks in Gwadar and Turbat.

Bugti also addressed issues such as ghost teachers and doctors drawing salaries without fulfilling duties, pledging to tackle such irregularities. Regarding smuggling, he mentioned the government’s discouragement of the practice while acknowledging socioeconomic factors contributing to it, reaffirming the government’s stance against condoning smuggling activities.
