Legendary Comedian Babu Baral Remembered on his 13th Death Anniversary

LAHORE:  The 13th death anniversary of the famous Pakistani comedian and stage actor, Babu Baral was observed on Tuesday.

Babbu Baral, whose real name was Ayub Akhtar started his professional career as comedian from Gujranwala in 1982.  After sometime, he started working at Open Air Theater in Lahore.

The renowned artist ruled the hearts of stage drama lovers throughout his career.

He acted in stage drams for 30 years.

Babu Baral was a mimicry expert and could also sing in legendary singers’ voices.

His most popular stage drama was ‘Shartiya Mithay’.

The government of Pakistan awarded him “Tamgha-e-Imtiaz” and “Sitara-e-Imtiaz” for his services to the entertainment industry.

Baral died on April 16, 2011 after a prolonged illness at the age of 51.

He had been suffering from hepatitis and kidney disease and was receiving treatment at a private hospital.
