RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has hailed an independent committee’s report on the performance of the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Wednesday.
According to the Saudi foreign ministry, the Kingdom backed the report, which confirmed UNRWA’s main role in carrying out the relief, humanitarian and developmental projects for the people of Palestine.
The ministry further reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s emphasis on the importance of the commitment of donor states to UNRWA to guarantee the effectiveness and sustainability of all forms of support for refugees in a manner that lessens their suffering, especially in light of the Israeli occupation’s violations of international law and international humanitarian law.
