Washington Says Energy Cooperation with Islamabad a Foremost Priority

WASHINGTON: The United States (US) has reaffirmed its pledge to helping Pakistan in addressing its energy crisis, with the State Department spokesperson emphasizing that energy cooperation remains a prime priority.

During a press briefing, spokesperson Matthew Miller emphasized the considerable contribution of the Washington in generating an additional 4,000 MW of clean energy in the South Asian country.

Pak-US Ties

The spokesperson pointed out that these projects meaningfully augmented Pakistan’s electricity capacity, ensuring that millions of Pakistani citizens got access to power in their homes.

He also underscored the collaborative efforts between Pakistan and the US in advancing the Green Program, aimed at resolving environmental issues, especially in water management.

The two sides are also working jointly on initiatives to promote climate-friendly agriculture and sustainable energy practices. These endeavors further reinforce their cooperation in combating climate change issue and promoting sustainable progress and development.
