Kyrgyzstan Starts Next Phase of China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan Railway Construction

BISHKEK, KYRGYZSTAN: Kyrgyz Temir Zholu (Kyrgyzstan Railways) National Company has started the next phase of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway construction project, Trend reports.

According to a statement from the company’s press service, officials from the Chinese Railways state enterprise recently convened with the leadership of Kyrgyz Temir Zholu in Jalal-Abad city.

During the meeting, both Chinese and Kyrgyz delegations conducted inspections of construction sites and surveyed future railway routes to gather additional information, aiming to optimize the technical and economic viability of the project.

As a result of collaborative efforts, precise measures for further planning and design have been established, with upcoming scheduled trips to construction sites in the Naryn region and planned meetings and consultations in Bishkek.

The proposed China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, spanning 454 kilometers, aims to connect China’s and Uzbekistan’s railway networks via Kyrgyzstan, facilitating linkage with the European railway network through Turkmenistan, Iran, and Turkiye.
