Kyrgyzstan to Hold Global Energy Forum in Vienna

BISHKEK: Kyrgyzstan is set to hold an international energy investment forum in Vienna, Austria, on June 10-11, Kyrgyz Minister of Energy Taalaibek Ibraev said on Saturday. The primary objective of this forum, is to attract financial support for the construction of the Kambarata-1 hydropower plant (HPP), the Minister said.

“The event will be attended by energy ministers from Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan, along with key investors. We anticipate that the forum will serve as a valuable platform for advancing our project,” Ibraev remarked.

During the Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank Group from April 17 to 19, Kyrgyzstan’s primary focus centered on securing investments for the construction of the HPP.
