SYDNEY: Pakistan High Commissioner to Australia Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri has attended the funeral prayer of Faraz Ahmed Tahir, a victim of the Bondi Junction incident.
The funeral proceedings were also attended by Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, the NSW Premier, various MPs, Senators, and a significant number of community members.
In a statement posted on Platform X on Saturday, the high commissioner remarked that Faraz had made the ultimate sacrifice to protect others. His acts of bravery, courage, and selflessness will forever be honoured and remembered.
Expressing condolences, he extended prayers for all the victims of the tragic events at Bondi Junction and wished a swift and complete recovery for the injured, including another Pakistani individual hailed as a hero, Muhammad Taha. —APP
