Pakistan Naval Chief Attends Western Pacific Naval Symposium in China

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Naval Chief Admiral Naveed Ashraf attended the 19th Western Pacific Naval Symposium in China. The theme of the Symposium was the “Shared Future with Seas”, in which the naval chiefs and representatives from various countries participated.

Admiral Naveed Ashraf also held meetings with the Commander US Pacific Fleet, the First Sea Lord, and Chief of Naval Staff of the Royal Navy, and the Commander In-chief of the Russian Federation Navy, according to a statement released by ISPR on Thursday.

He also held meetings with the Chief of Indonesian Navy, the Chief of the Bangladesh Navy, the Chief of Naval Operations in South Korea, the Naval Chief of Singapore, and the Acting Deputy Commander of the Brunei Navy, the statement said.

Pakistan Naval Chief Pakistan Navy’s Role in Maritime Security

In his interactions, Admiral Naveed Ashraf highlighted the active role of the Pakistan Navy in tackling the dangers in the maritime and blue economy.

Pakistan Navy has been associated with the Western Pacific Naval Symposium as an observer since 2014.

It is hoped that the visit of the Naval Chief will bolster cooperation with the navies present in the symposium to improve regional and global maritime security.
