ISLAMABAD: Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif added a touch of sweetness to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s inauguration ceremony by presenting him with a gift of Pakistani mangoes. Renowned as the “king of fruits,” Pakistani mangoes are cherished for their exotic aroma and delectable honey-like sweetness.
As dignitaries from various countries were gathered in Ankara for Erdogan’s swearing-in ceremony, PM Shehbaz Sharif also made a visit to the friendly nation. During a dinner event, the Pakistani premier had the opportunity to meet with President Erdogan and his wife, where he expressed his gesture of goodwill by presenting them with Pakistani mangoes.

Erdogan Graciously Accepts Mangoes Gift
PM Shehbaz, while holding Erdogan’s hands in a display of respect, conveyed that he had brought the mangoes specifically for the Turkish President. He mentioned that half of the mangoes were intended for his “brother” (Erdogan) and the other half for his “sister” (Erdogan’s wife). Erdogan graciously accepted the gift and expressed his gratitude, acknowledging the renowned taste and sweetness of Pakistani mangoes.
During their interaction, PM Shehbaz extended congratulations on behalf of the government and people of Pakistan to Erdogan on his re-election. The diplomatic, cultural, and economic ties between Islamabad and Ankara have a long history, stemming from the era of Muslim rule in the Indian subcontinent and the Ottoman Empire. Over the years, the two nations have strengthened their defense cooperation and continue to work towards enhancing their economic partnership.
