Pakistan’s President Urges Int’l Community to Protect Palestinians

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari has called upon the international community to ensure the unhindered flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza and to guarantee the safety of Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip. He made these remarks during a meeting with Ambassador Ahmed Jawad Rabei of Palestine, who visited him in Islamabad.

During the meeting, President Zardari emphasized Pakistan’s enduring historical ties with Palestine and reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for its Palestinian brethren. He pledged to continue advocating for the Palestinian cause on global platforms.

The President commended the courage and resilience of the Palestinian people in their prolonged struggle against Israeli occupation. He announced Pakistan’s commitment to dispatch additional relief supplies, including food and medicine, to assist the Palestinian population.

Ambassador Rabei briefed President Zardari on the atrocities and oppressive actions carried out by Israeli forces against innocent Palestinians in Gaza.

He expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s support, particularly in the field of education, noting that more than 50,000 Palestinians have graduated from various disciplines in Pakistani educational institutions.

Furthermore, the Ambassador conveyed warm regards from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and extended gratitude to Pakistan for its consistent backing and solidarity with the Palestinian cause.
