ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) adjourned the hearing on a petition seeking Imran Khan’s disqualification for failing to disclose his alleged daughter Tyrian White in his nomination papers until March 29.

The case was heard by a larger bench led by Chief Justice Aamer Farooq and comprised of Justice Mohsin Akhter Kayani and Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir.

At the start of the hearing, Justice Kayani stated that in the case of Faisal Vawda, the facts were admitted, and then an apology was extended. The decision regarding Khwaja Asif’s disqualification had also been terminated by the Supreme Court, according to Justice Farooq.

Justice Farooq inquired what would be the effect if a child was not a dependent. He asked what would be the result if PTI’s chief didn’t mention his sons’ names.

The court stated that even if Imran Khan accepted his alleged daughter, the petition would still be denied under the law. However, he stated that the court would consider the affidavit’s legal requirement.

Imran Khan provided information about sons: Salman Akram Raja

The lawyer for the Election Commission of Pakistan estimated that collecting Imran Khan’s affidavit submitted to the returning officer in by-elections would take about two days.

Hamid Shah, the petitioner’s lawyer, argued that Imran Khan had submitted information about his sons to the ECP in 2018.

He claimed his sons were not his dependents because they lived with their mother. He stated the question had nothing to do with a child’s dependency. According to Shah, Imran Khan should have come forward by himself when the allegation was made against him.

Salman Akram Raja, Imran Khan’s lawyer, stated that his client had provided information about his sons because they had previously been his dependents. He stated that they were admitting their affidavit because it was clear. After the petitioner’s lawyer finished his arguments, the court adjourned the hearing.
