GWADAR: Pakistan’s security forces on Wednesday successfully thwarted a terrorist attack on the Gwadar Port Authority (GPA) Complex, killing all eight terrorists involved in the assault.

The terrorists, identified as members of the outlawed Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), attempted to breach the GPA Complex in a shameless act of terrorism.

According to local media reports, the BLA terrorists attempted to enter the GPA Complex in Gwadar. However, their nefarious plans were quickly intercepted by the vigilant security forces, who responded with decisive action to neutralize the threat. Meanwhile, security forces have cordoned off the area surrounding the GPA Complex to ensure the safety of residents and personnel.

The GPA Complex houses various offices crucial to the operations of the Gwadar Port Authority, alongside facilities for law enforcement agencies and staff residences. The complex also houses the passport office, Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) office, and other government offices.

A clearance operation is underway at the complex in the security personnel’s presence.

Meanwhile, Commissioner Makran Division confirmed the incident and number of killed terrorists.

Reacting to the foiled attack, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah condemned the attack on the GPA complex, saying: “Elimination of the terrorists is final and the determination of our military men is strong.” CPEC is the future of Pakistan and we will not allow any harm to it under any circumstances, the CM added.
